Oh my, you mean she’s not really a robot after all?

Posted by gnn1 on Saturday, 25 August 2007

Posh that is.  Hubby Becks wound up in a confrontation with an opposing player during Galaxy game the other night.  Seems someone tripped the star footballer and he didn’t like it (and who can blame him).  Things apparently got nasty (I have a pic, below), before a referee stepped in.

It didn’t help, I’m sure, that David had just come off a 20 hour flight from London where, only 30 hours before the Galaxy Match, he played 90 minutes (a full match) for England at Wembley Stadium (is he crazy???).

Anyway, the woman who never seems to smile, never reacts when he scores a goal (oh, my bad, she claps), is visibly surprised if not shocked at this.  (Another pic below).

Film director in ‘a very very unfortunate’ car accident

Posted by gnn1 on Saturday, 25 August 2007

Director John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood) was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident Thursday night (23 Aug).

He was driving in south Los Angeles when a 57 year old woman, Constance Russell, stepped in front of Singleton’s 2001 Lexus SUV.  She was not in a crosswalk, and stepped directly in front of him.

According to police, Singleton waited for police and an ambulance to arrive.  He was not speeding and was not under the influence of any substances.  He was not cited for any violations.

Oh the conservatives are gonna have a field day with this new show!!!

Posted by gnn1 on Saturday, 25 August 2007

Variety.com indicates that FX (network home to Rescue Me, Damages, and Nip/Tuck) is readying a show called 4 oz. (ounces).  FX and 20th Century Fox have picked up the pilot and three episodes.

The show is about a gynaecologist who realises he is a transsexual.  The man is married with two sons when he realises this.

FX hopes to carry the show through four seasons Variety reports:

The first season would deal with the revelation of the doc’s decision; the second would revolve around him transitioning to female; the third would revolve around the surgery, and the fourth would consist of his new life as a woman and his attempt to find love.

Brad Pitt will have his name on the series as co-producer which may help ratings.  But nothing is going to save the show from the wrath of the conservatives and religious right.  (Oh I can’t wait to see Bill O’Reilly pop a vein over this one!).

By the way, I totally plan to watch at least the pilot!

Check out K-Ville BEFORE the 17 Sept première

Posted by gnn1 on Saturday, 25 August 2007

It’s one of the most highly talked about shows of the season.  I know I’m planning to tune in for at least the pilot.

K-Ville is set in post-Katrina New Orleans.  It’s a cop drama and Mee Vee’s review (linked below) indicates there may be some unrealistic elements in terms of

“over the top car chases and shootouts”

But until 31 August, Fox is giving you the chance to decide for yourself.  You can view the pilot episode in its entirety here
