You go out with your friends or co-workers Friday night, and Saturday morning, you feel the miniature construction crew attempting to split your head open with a jack-hammer. Most of us have been there.
And most of us make a pot of strong coffee and head for the Tylenol (Paracetamol in UK). Scientists are now saying “Don’t.”
While it has long been recognised that ingesting large amounts of alcohol whilst taking acetaminophen could cause serious, even potentially fatal, interactions, scientists are just now saying that there could also be problems with taking the painkiller with caffeine.
The findings are preliminary, but scientists are still urging consumers to limit all caffeinated beverage–including energy drinks–whilst using acetaminophen.
People who use certain medications, including certain anti-epileptic medications and St John’s Wort, are more susceptible to negative effects from the combination of alcohol and acetaminophen.

Hey guys. My high-speed internet crashed a week ago, which is why the updates haven’t been coming. Most of my sources are simply NOT dial-up friendly. I am back up and running now though. The updates may still be a bit more sporadic than they were a month ago, as I am working on a movie that is filming locally and thus will have little personal time. But they WILL be coming.
Thanks for your patience!!!

Found this in odd news:
CANBERRA (Reuters) – A lesbian couple in Australia are suing their doctor after they had twin girls from an in vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedure when they only wanted one child. The two women are seeking more than $400,000 (Australian dollars) (171,941 Great Britain Pounds; $322,893 US Dollars) in damages to help pay for the cost of raising the second child, including private school fees, saying they made it clear to their doctor that they only wanted one baby.
The twins are now three years old and the civil case, the first of its kind in Australia, has prompted debate about the value of children and role of parents.
“The litigation involving twins already three years old undermines the importance of parenthood,” conservative government Senator Guy Barnett said on Thursday.
“We seem more intent on preserving and pandering to the wishes of adults, than we are in protecting the rights of children,” he said.
Barnett called for banning same-sex couples and unmarried women from access to publicly-funded IVF services, sparking a new moral debate ahead of national elections, due at any time.
The case is being heard in Canberra, where letters published in the local Canberra Times newspaper overwhelmingly criticised the legal action after the birth of two healthy children.
“The child’s identity is subsumed to the whim of the mother who has bought the sperm and paid the IVF clinic,” columnist Angela Shanahan wrote in The Australian newspaper.
“Ultimately the result is the child as product, robbed of its unique identity.”
The court has ordered a gag on the identity of the women, who used donor sperm from a Danish doctor for the IVF treatment in 2003 which resulted in the birth of twin girls.
The court has heard that they signed a consent form to allow two embryos to be implanted, but specifically told their specialist they only wanted one embryo implanted.
The court was told the birth of the twins had created considerable stress within the couples’ relationship, but lawyers for the doctor said that almost every couple who had a child went through similar strain.
It takes a lot of nerve to sue your doctor for having twins. And I am sure they were told and ignored that the doctor couldn’t guarantee a single birth.
And why the fuck should they can sue for PRIVATE SCHOOL fees?! This is just fucked up all over.

Just hours after a judge warned her that she had a substance abuse problem and that she would be randomly drug tested twice weekly, our train-wreck du jour was out partying hard again.
NY Daily News reports that she
’spent a long time hanging out in the bathroom of Hyde.’
The bathrooms are a favourite spot to do drugs.
She then appeared at Winston’s and was already haggard looking when she arrived. She also spent time indulging in starlets’ favourite activity-table dancing.
Way to go, Brit Brit. You show that judge that he can’t control you!

Or just loser? 50 Cent is crying. Foul that is. He’s accusing Kanye West’s label, Def Jam, of rigging record sales. His basis for this claim?
“He’s never had a fraction of the sales 50 Cent has.”
Maybe people just want you to go the eff away dude. Oh, and Fiddiot? Talking about yourself in 3rd person is SOOO passé.

Judge Scott Gordon has ordered hard-partying trainwreck Britney Spears to undergo twice weekly random drug tests, saying that she has a
‘habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol.’
He refused to make any changes to the current 50-50 agreement the ex-couple had. He also ordered them to engage in a joint co-parenting couselling programme.
Both are forbidden from drinking while or in the 12 hours preceding such time as they are
‘responsible for the health and safety of the minor children.’
Neither is permitted to use corporal punishment (slapping, spanking, etc) on the children and may not permit anyone else to.
And finally, neither KFed nor Britney can say derogatory things about the other person, the other person’s family, and the other person’s significant other.

Yes that’s an actual sentence. If you were among the 14 people who watched the Emmy’s then you are aware of that.
Fox–known for being rather right wing (believe it or not)–censored Sally Field’s acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Drama Series.
For those who are curious the sentence is ‘If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn’t be any god-damned wars in the first place.’
Now for those who may start screaming Freedom of Speech, let me give a (very) brief Constitutional Law lesson.
Congress shall make no laws abridging freedom of speech. It is now accepted to be ‘government’ (any level) not merely Congress. TV networks can bleep whatever they want.
I still think it’s bullshit though. Let a person speak her mind, folks!

The BBC is reporting that 50 Cent has ‘temporarily postponed’ his European tour. This comes as he is losing the sales race against Kanye West. Fidd-iot has said that, should Kanye’s record outsell his own, he would retire.
“I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.”
A spokesperson for 50 Cent merely blames ‘unforeseen circumstances’ for the tour cancellation postponement. Sorry honey, but his losing the sales race was foreseen by all but him.
The official sales results will be known Wednesday, the 19th.

Tony Barretto, Britney’s former bodyguard, attending a hearing today with his attorney, Gloria Allred. He was there to testify against Britney in the ongoing custody dispute war with K-Fed.
Instead of being questioned by the court or challenged by Britney’s lawyers, a previous declaration Barretto signed was entered as evidence. The declaration alleges that ‘Britney engaged in
nudity, drug-use, and safety issues post-rehab.’
According to Allred, Britney’s lawyers did not challenge the veracity of the claims.
Childrens’ Services representatives were present in court, to the surprise of Britney’s legal counsel.
At a hearing just two weeks ago, Spears attorney Laura Wasser told the court, “I spoke to [DCFS attorneys] Paul Harris and Doug Hunter, who both said they are not going to pursue anything on this.” She later told Usmagazine.com, “I don’t think they [the DCFS] had anything to appear about.”

Colin Farrell is as sweet as he is hot. Maybe sweeter.
It started four years ago. Cols was in Yorkville (Canada?), shooting a movie. A radio DJ offered $2000 to anyone who managed to get Colin to the radio station. Colin grabbed the first homeless person he saw and brought him to the station.
Flash ahead to the present. He sees the same guy, nicknamed Stress. Tells him to jump into his Audi. Takes him shopping. Cols tells the staff to get Stress anything he wants.
When the trip is over, Colin seeks the nearest ATM. He returns with ‘a wad of $20s’ for Stress.
And he doesn’t even stop there! He then arranges for Stress to stay in a decent room for a year, paying for it himself. All in all sources figure Cols must have spent more than $10,000.
Makes me love Colin even more.

Jake and Reese seem to be modeling their relationship after Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth’s. They are reportedly on a break from each other again but an insider says it wouldn’t be a shock if they got back together.
Sources tell US Weekly they barely made eye contact at the Toronto Film Festival screening of Rendition, the movie they did together. Indeed, a photo from the event shows them with phony smiles and Reese’s body is turned slightly away from Jake’s.

Kanye has been crowned the winner in the record sales feud. Since Fidd-iot Cent vowed to quit making (solo) records if that happened, it looks like he better find a duet partner or hit the road.
Here’s a fork and some hot sauce for that crow you gotta eat, bro.

The film I have been waiting months for–Eastern Promises–is the fans’ favourite film from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)!! The film, which opens nationwide on the 21st of this month, centers around the Vory-the Russian mob, in London, and stars Viggo Mortensen, my favourite actor and the lovely new mum, Naomi Watts.
Synopsis: Naomi Watts plays a midwife whose patient, a teenager, dies in childbirth. She decides to try to find the girl’s family, and in doing so comes into dangerous contact with the Vory, one of the most ruthless criminal organisations. I won’t say more so that I don’t give away spoilers, but remember that this is Cronenberg and things are not always as they seem

It only took a security guard who claims he was kicked in the head by rocker Axl Rose (Guns N’ Roses) 11 years to file a lawsuit.
Gary Armijo claims he was kicked intentionally and that the blow left him with severe physical injuries.
Howard Weitzmana, Rose’s attorney, calls the suit
a pathetic attempt to get money from Axl.
I’m inclined to agree. This reeks of extortion, and I hope Rose files a counter-suit. ELEVEN YEARS? C’mon!

Britney’s reputation precedes her to MTV execs. It’s being reported that he pop tart has been warned to behave or she’ll be replaced at the VMAs. It was ’suggested’ she ought to focus on preparing for the performance.
One only wonders how she took the news of her expendability. The insider leaking the information says that she is uber-grateful for the chance to perform and knows that she is ‘on thin ice’.
But it’s been reported that she hasn’t exactly eased up on partying, drinking before rehearsals, partying at the Hard Rock Casino at Snoop Dogg’s party, and reportedly also not eating for several days!
