‘If mothers ruled the world [bleep]‘

Posted by gnn1 on Monday, 17 September 2007

Yes that’s an actual sentence.  If you were among the 14 people who watched the Emmy’s then you are aware of that.

Fox–known for being rather right wing (believe it or not)–censored Sally Field’s acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

For those who are curious the sentence is ‘If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn’t be any god-damned wars in the first place.’

Now for those who may start screaming Freedom of Speech, let me give a (very) brief Constitutional Law lesson.

Congress shall make no laws abridging freedom of speech.  It is now accepted to be ‘government’ (any level) not merely Congress.  TV networks can bleep whatever they want.

I still think it’s bullshit though.  Let a person speak her mind, folks!

50 Cent ‘temporarily postpones’ tour

Posted by gnn1 on Monday, 17 September 2007

The BBC is reporting that 50 Cent has ‘temporarily postponed’ his European tour.  This comes as he is losing the sales race against Kanye West.  Fidd-iot has said that, should Kanye’s record outsell his own, he would retire.

“I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.”

A spokesperson for 50 Cent merely blames ‘unforeseen circumstances’ for the tour cancellation postponement.  Sorry honey, but his losing the sales race was foreseen by all but him.

The official sales results will be known Wednesday, the 19th.

Bodyguard tells court what we already knew

Posted by gnn1 on Monday, 17 September 2007

Tony Barretto, Britney’s former bodyguard, attending a hearing today with his attorney, Gloria Allred.  He was there to testify against Britney in the ongoing custody dispute war with K-Fed.

Instead of being questioned by the court or challenged by Britney’s lawyers, a previous declaration Barretto signed was entered as evidence.  The declaration alleges that ‘Britney engaged in

nudity, drug-use, and safety issues post-rehab.’

According to Allred, Britney’s lawyers did not challenge the veracity of the claims.

Childrens’ Services representatives were present in court, to the surprise of Britney’s legal counsel.

At a hearing just two weeks ago, Spears attorney Laura Wasser told the court, “I spoke to [DCFS attorneys] Paul Harris and Doug Hunter, who both said they are not going to pursue anything on this.” She later told Usmagazine.com, “I don’t think they [the DCFS] had anything to appear about.”
