Talk about a lucky break!

Posted by gnn1 on Thursday, 16 August 2007

A report out of the Sydney Morning Herald today indicates that an elderly New Zealander had a heart attack whilst shopping in a hardware store.

It was his luck that a salesman happened to be there.  The man was selling defibrillators!  In what SMH coined the ‘ultimate sales pitch demonstration’ (love that phrase!) the salesman, Gavin MacDonel–also a volunteer paramedic–hooked up the machine.  Once he determined there was no heartbeat, he shocked the unnamed man, who responded.

According to SMH, the man is in hospital but is expected to recover.

I love reading good news stories like this.  I’m smiling right now, btw.

But I wonder–d’you think the store bought the machine?  😉
