    Owen,

I am such a huge fan of your work. I want you to know your fans are here to support you in all you do. God bless you and I know you will pull out of the 100%, for I have myself! Take care of YOU, for that’s all that matters!

    Dear Mr. Wilson:

I am sorry that so much had built up in your life that you felt that you had to try to escape from it. I tried to put myself in your place and see how much more difficult certain aspects of your life would be as a result of your fame:

First, just because you are Owen Wilson doesn’t mean that you just get to turn off the pain and pressures of real life; disappointment, fear, love, loss, loneliness, illness, family issues, etc… What is does mean is that all of these things become even more tough to deal with because of the fact that they, along with your reactions to them, are exposed to the world. Added to this is the fact that many people want to be in your life for reasons that have nothing to do with you as an individual, and all of your relationships become altered as a result of your fame and fortune. (Having a close relationship with your brother probably helps, since he knows what you are going through, but this is a double edged sword because you probably worry about him and his relationships as well. Workwise, as a successful motion picture star, you have the pressures that come with tryng to make a hit out of every movie in which you are involved, whether you are writing and/or starring in it.

I also imagine that you feel that you are supposed to be happy all of the time as the result of all that life has given you. And, if, God forbid, you do get sad or hurt or dissappointed, you don’t get much, if any, time to grieve or work throug it. Because you are that funny guy, Owen Wilson, you should just laugh it off since everything in your world is “supposedly” so wonderful that you aren’t allowed to feel bad… ever.

This is my unsolicited advice to you – (1) Rest; (2) Surround yourself with people you knew from before you were famous and others that you have met that you really trust; (3) Surf; (4) Add a little psycho therapy – and really tell the trust; and (5) Don’t go back to work until you are ready.

Take care – you are a loveable guy, be happy.

    Katie

PS – For something completely off the wall and silly – I thought you were Dennis Hopper’s son when I first saw you. Maybe he has some answers for you.
